At this stage all we did was to establish some standard values. The next step is to make sure the capping equipment can deliver the eventual desired removal torques and if it can reliably repeat these values.
- With sample packages, adjust the capper to obtain the immediate removal torque, previously established.
- Make sure the obtained results are consistent.
- If your capper has more than one head, make your verification on each head. Ideally you proceed methodically using statistical methods, for example 10 readings per head, with averages and standards deviations that can be extrapolated into production values.
- If the capper adjustments do not give consistent results, you have to find the cause; it can be the capper, the choice and quality of the packaging components, the filling conditions, etc.
